Baccalaureate School for Global Education
The Baccalaureate School for Global Education (BSGE) is a New York City Public School located in the Astoria section of Queens, New York. BSGE was established in 2002. It serves a student body of 470 students between the 7th and 12th grades. BSGE is authorized by the International Baccalaureate Organization to offer both the MYP (IB Middle Years Programme) and also the IB Diploma Programme. Applicants must pass an admission test.
==Admissions==
All applicants must be residents of New York City, although priority is given to those in Queens County. Every year, BSGE hosts two Open-House evenings. For 7th grade admissions, applicants must take an entrance exam. Additionally, letters of recommendations are required. After the test, the school chooses students that passed the test and these students will receive an interview letter. Students receive admissions decisions approximately a few months later. For 9th grade admissions, middle school grades are examined. Student also may choose which language they would like to study (Spanish, French, or Manderin) after acceptance, though the school only uses this as a recommendation.
